Requirements:
1. Your device should have enough battery power, at least 50%. Check your battery percentage.2. Backup or copy important data (photos, videos, notes) and settings to external storage (Its optional but taking backup is always a good practice].
3. Install USB driver for your device on your PC/Laptop- Download USB Driver.
4. Turn on the USB Debugging mode from Developer Options. Go to Settings-General-Developer Options [Developer options are hidden by default on all Android device running on Android 4.2 or up. How to Install TWRP 2.8.5 on HTC Butterfly X920d:
1. Download and install Android SDK and make sure ADB and fastboot is configured on your pc/laptop.
2. Connect your HTC Butterfly X920d with pc vis USB.
3. Now download HTC Butterfly X920d twrp 2.8.5 image file and place it in the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools folder
4. Now go to Fastboot/Bootloader mode. To do so, Navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools folder and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt).
5. Now, in the command promt, type the following command and press enter.
adb reboot bootloader
6. HTC Butterfly X920d will automatically switch off and will boot into the fastboot mode. proceed further after successfully installing driver. [You can also boot into the Fastboot Mode by switching OFF your phone and turn it ON by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power buttons together.]
7. Now type the following command and press enter
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.5.0-dlxu.img
8. Now select RECOVERY from the fastboot menu and enter twrp recovery mode. Use volume keys to navigate between up and down.
9. If you can see TWRP Recovery then you have successfully completed process and your device is running with twrp recovery installed.
10. Now you can go back to your normal HTC Butterfly X920d phone mode by selecting "reboot system now" from the recovery menu. The phone will boot to normal mode.
Congratulations! you have completed the process to install TWRP 2.8.5 for HTC Butterfly X920d. Now your device is running with custom recovery like twrp and you can customize and personalize your device any time by boot into twrp recovery.
Install TWRP 2.8.5 on HTC Butterfly X920d using Flashify:
1. First download and install the Flashify app on your device.
2. Now download TWRP 2.8.5 image file and copy/paste the "twrp-2.8.5.0-dlxu.img" file to your device sd card.
